Zoom App Download Free - The implementation of physical distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic is still valid in 2021. Teaching and working activities still have to be done from home.
To support these activities, a remote conferencing application is needed, one of which is quite popular is Zoom.
Zoom is a video conferencing app that can be accessed on both mobile devices and computers.
In Zoom there is a feature called Sharing Screen or sharing views from the desktop with other participants. In virtual video conferencing, this feature is very useful.
Attendees can share their screens at the same time during the meeting to other participants. How to Share Screen on Zoom Quoted from Zoom Help Center page, as for the steps and how to Share Screen as follows:
A. Share Your Screen or Content
1. Click the Share Screen button located in your meeting control.
2. Choose one of these screen sharing options: - Basic Share your entire desktop, a specific application window, whiteboard, or iPhone/iPad screen. Note: Users can select multiple desktop programs at once, rather than sharing their entire desktop.
Only users using this feature need to use version 5.4.3 or higher, while viewers can connect with earlier versions. Hold down the Shift key in macOS or the Ctrl key in Windows to select more than one app.
Advanced Slides/Powerpoint as Virtual Background i.e. allows you to use slideshow presentations as your virtual background, giving more immersive presentations.
A portion of Screen: share a portion of your screen represented by a green border. Borders can be customized as needed during sharing by clicking and dragging any side or corner.
Computer Audio: only share your computer's audio (the speakers you select in the audio settings). Select the down arrow just to the right of the Computer Audio option to see audio options and switch between Mono and Stereo (high fidelity) audio options.
Video: share locally stored video content through zoom's original video player. Content from 2nd Camera: share a second camera connected to your computer, for example, a document camera or an integrated camera on your laptop.
- Share files from third-party sharing services like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to third-party services and grant Zoom access.
Note: This option may be disabled by account admins, so the available options may vary. Alternatively, you can open the file in a web browser, then share the browser window.
For example, to share a Google Docs, open Docs in Chrome, then share the Chrome window. The end result is the same as using the sharing options on the File tab.
3. (Optional) enable this feature, located in the lower left corner of the sharing window:
Share sound: if you check this option, any sounds played by your computer will be shared in the meeting. Select the down arrow just to the right of the Share Sound option to switch between Mono and Stereo (high fidelity) options.
Optimize for video clip( optimize for vídeo clips): check this if you're going to share a video clip in full-screen mode. Uncheck this instead, as it may cause the shared screen to become blurry.
4. Click Share. When the sharing process starts and 80 percent of devices recognize receiving a shared screen, you'll see a notification banner that says Participants can now see the screen you shared, or whatever you choose to share.
Note: Zoom automatically switches to full screen to optimize the display of the shared screen. To exit full screen, click Exit Full Screen in the upper-right corner or press the Esc key. To turn off automatic full screen viewing when viewing shared screens, adjust the window size during screen sharing behavior in your desktop client settings.
If you selected Content from 2nd Camera, click Switch Camera in the top left corner to change the shared camera.
B. Share Screen Menu
When you start screen sharing, the meeting controls move to a menu that you can drag around your screen.
Note: Some of the options detailed below may not be visible because the account admin restrictions or features are only visible to the meeting organizer or co-host.
- Mute/Unmute: mute or turn on your microphone.
- Start/Stop Video: start or stop the video in your meeting.
- Security: access security options in meetings.
- Participants: view or manage participants (if the host). Click the down arrow to access Invite, where you can invite others to join the meeting.
- Polls: allows you to create, edit, and launch your polls. The option to create or launch a poll opens the Zoom web portal in your default browser. When the poll closes, you can view the results and download the full poll report. If a poll has been created, both the host and co-host can launch the vote, but only the host can edit or add voting to the meeting.
- New Share: start a new screen share. You'll be asked to choose which screen you want to share again.
- Pause Share: pauses the screen you are currently sharing. - Annotate: display annotation tools for drawing, adding text, etc. - More: hover over for additional options.
C. Display The Zoom Window During Screen Sharing By default
The Zoom window is not shared when sharing your screen. Displaying the Zoom window during screen sharing can be useful if participants help you use Zoom.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- On the inside of the meeting (Basic), make sure to show the Zoom window while screen sharing is turned on. This setting will allow the settings to appear on the desktop client.
- Sign out of the Zoom desktop client and sign back in. Alternatively, you can exit the client and reopen it.
- Click your profile picture and then click Settings.
- Click the Share Screen tab and make sure Show Zoom windows as long as screen share is enabled.
D. Using Dual Monitor
If using dual monitor settings, you can enable the dual monitor feature to view screen sharing on one monitor and participants on a second monitor.
